Holy Cross High School endeavors to serve the academic, religious and social
needs of our students.
The Academic Program, comprised of more than fifty course offerings, is
subdivided into three groupings:
Advanced Placement and Honors:
These courses are offered to students who have met high achievement
standards.
College Prep:
CP is offered to all students in their sophomore, junior, and senior
years. Freshman who have met the minimum prerequisite aptitude standards
are offered college prep courses.
General:
These courses are offered to all students on an elective basis.
Our program of studies has been carefully planned to care for the individual
needs of each student.
Holy
Cross Graduation Requirements:
Beginning with the class of 2011, 32 courses or 160 credits are required for
graduation (the class of 2009 will graduate with 150 credits and the class
of 2010 will graduate with 155 credits).
Holy Cross High School recommends the following program for attendance at a
four-year college or university:
20 credits in Religion (5 credits each year)
20 credits in English (5 credits each year)
15-20 credits in Science (10 credits in Lab Sciences)
15-20 credits in Mathematics
10-20 credits in a World Language
10 credits in Physical Education
5 credits in World History
10 credits in US History I and II
20 credits in Electives taken from Core Content areas
5-10 credits in Visual and Performing Arts
and/or
5-10 credits in the Practical Arts |
